Modern diving began in the 20th century.
At the 2nd Olympic Games in 1900, the Swedes performed various diving moves on a specially made platform.
In 1904, the 3rd Olympic Games began to set up two competitions, men’s high diving and men’s platform diving.
In 1908, the International Amateur Swimming Federation formulated the competition rules, canceled the high diving event, and added platform diving and springboard diving competitions, thus laying the foundation for modern diving competitions.
